About the role
Most support teams can tell you which button to click. Ours can tell you why the numbers don’t reconcile. As an Accountant Customer Support specialist, you blend deep accounting knowledge with genuine empathy to help our customers succeed, whether they’re stuck on a platform feature or untangling a tricky accounting workflow.
You’ll be the kind of support person customers actually look forward to talking to: someone who speaks their language, understands their books, and resolves issues the first time. This is a role for a trained accountant or bookkeeper who loves solving problems and helping people.
What you'll do
- Respond to client questions over chat and email, resolving both platform issues and accounting/bookkeeping workflow questions.
- Diagnose reconciliation, ledger, and reporting issues using your accounting expertise, then guide clients to the right resolution.
- Translate accounting best practices into clear, friendly guidance customers can act on immediately.
- Partner with engineering and product to escalate bugs, reproduce issues, and advocate for fixes that help customers.
- Create and improve help center articles, templates, and macros so common questions get faster answers.
- Spot patterns in customer questions and feed them back to the team to improve the product and reduce future tickets.
What we're looking for
- A trained accountant or bookkeeper with a strong grasp of double-entry accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a closely related field.
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts simply and warmly.
- A patient, customer-first mindset and genuine satisfaction from helping people.
- Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment and managing your own queue.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a SaaS customer support or customer success role.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms and bank-feed integrations.
- A professional designation (e.g. CPA, CA, or equivalent bookkeeping certification).
